Dinner - pâté chinois

Mom corrected me tonight on the spelling - the correct (French Canadian) name is pâté chinois. (Hamburger, corn and potatoes aka Shepherd's Pie, although I never heard the latter phrase until I went to college. Mom always called it by its French name, although sometimes I see it online as hachis parmentier, but I think that's the French name rather than the French Canadian name.)

LOL That's good to know!!

I think the French Canadian name for it is "Chinese pie" (or something like that) because chinese workers on the Canadian railway would make it. (If popular history can be taken to be true!)
